Nicola Palmer has over 20 years experience in developing, financing and managing infrastructure assets across multiple infrastructure sectors including: water and wastewater, power generation, rail and light rail, toll roads, gas pipelines, electricity and gas distribution networks and ports – all of which she has successfully closed transactions.
Nicola was a member of the team that founded Arcus in 2009 and was part of the team responsible for the creation of the Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 1 (AEIF1) in 2007. Nicola led the Fund’s acquisition of Forth Ports and was the asset manager for Forth Ports until June 2012, when her focus changed to capital raising. Nicola has been a member of the Fund’s Investment Committee since 2009 and currently sits on the Forth Ports investee companies boards.
Nicola’s career in infrastructure investment commenced in 1994 at Australian Industry Development Corporation (AIDC), and she remained with that team when it was acquired by Babcock & Brown in 1997. She moved to join the London team in 2005. In addition to raising AEIF1, Nicola was a leading member of the team responsible for creating the listed infrastructure fund, Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Limited.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Science (1988) and Bachelor of Law (Hons) (1990) from the University of Sydney, a Diploma from the Securities Institute in Sydney (1992) and a Masters of Finance from Macquarie University (1994).
