Portus Data Centers names Adriaan Oosthoek as Chairman

London – 12 December 2023:  Portus Data Centers (“Portus”), today formally announced the appointment of Adriaan Oosthoek as Company Chairman. In his new role, Adriaan is responsible for leading the future development and expansion of the rapidly growing datacentre group which currently comprises IPHH in Hamburg, EDH in Luxembourg, and Portus Munich, a newly developed facility acquired from SpaceNet.

The new appointment was made by Arcus Infrastructure Partners LLP (“Arcus”), the independent European infrastructure fund manager which launched Portus Data Centers following its acquisition of the three datacentres this year.

Having spent the past 20+ years in senior management roles in the datacentre industry, Adriaan has a deep understanding of colocation and wholesale datacentre businesses as well as significant knowledge of the European datacentre markets. He was also Chairman of the Board of Governors for eight years at the Data Centre Alliance industry association until 2019.

During 2016-2022 Adriaan was Senior Vice President of Operations, Construction and IT at Interxion with responsibility for its 60 datacentres located across 13 European countries and 15 cities. This included overseeing the successful transition of the company’s operations following its acquisition by Digital Reality in 2020.

Previously, Adriaan’s high profile career has included positions as Executive Vice President of Data Centre Services at Colt Technology Services, UK&I Managing Director at Telecity Group UK, and Managing Director Netherlands at Redbus Interhouse.

Prior to this, he was a founder of the Dutch subsidiary of Teles, a European provider of IT services, and held a number of senior roles with responsibility for managing several regional markets throughout Europe. Adriaan has also held senior positions at Racal Datacom.

Adriaan Oosthoek, Chairman of Portus Data Centers, commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed by Portus Data Centers to support its ongoing expansion. The number of use cases for Regional and Edge datacentres is rapidly increasing and as a result demand for regional colocation capacity is growing significantly. I really look forward to utilising my experience and working with Arcus to support the business and our customers on this growth trajectory.”

“We are thrilled to have a Chairman of Adriaan’s calibre and proven industry track-record on board,” said John Shea, Partner at Arcus. “He is a great asset to Portus Data Centers and will be key to leading our ongoing expansion both in DACH as well as other regions going forward.”

Adriaan has a bachelor’s degree in business information sciences. He studied at the Business School for Economics in The Hague and holds marketing certificates NIMA A and NIMA B.
