Arcus ranked first in the 2021 ESG transparency index

LONDON, United Kingdom (22 February 2022) – Arcus is proud to announce we have been awarded 1st place in the 2021 ESG Transparency Index (the “Index”) for Private Equity and Venture Capital firms. The 2021 Index used over 70 criteria to evaluate the ESG performance of 155 Private Equity and 122 Venture Capital firms and scored them on ESG integration within their own organisations and across their investment portfolios. The 2021 Index report, released today, showcases what leading firms disclose publicly about their ESG performance and commitment. Whilst investors look for improved management of ESG risks and opportunities, there is also increasing demand for enhanced disclosure and transparency. Arcus is proud to have been recognised as market leader in providing transparency and public disclosure of ESG integration across our organisation and investment activities.

Neil Krawitz, Arcus Partner and Head of Asset Management & ESG, commented: “This is an important award and recognition for the Arcus team and our investee company management. Arcus believes that effective ESG integration and management are critical to developing the infrastructure of the future and have significant value enhancement potential. ESG can be a source of competitive advantage, reduce disruption and vulnerability to risk, and bring significant efficiency increases to create long-term sustainable value. Transparency on ESG approach and disclosure of ESG performance is important for all stakeholders to understand who manages ESG factors well. We are proud to have been ranked top of the Index, and we will strive to continuously enhance our ESG approach, performance and transparency”.

The 2021 Index was independently compiled from publicly available disclosure, assessed and ranked by the sustainability consultancies Orbis Advisory and ITPEnergised, and endorsed by GRESB.
