London, 27 October 2026 – Arcus Infrastructure Partners (“Arcus”) is pleased to announce that Volta Data Centres (“Volta”) has acquired the Reynolds House Manchester data centre from Lunar Digital through a carve-out transaction. The acquired business provides carrier-neutral, interconnection-led colocation services from the Reynolds House campus in Manchester, United Kingdom. The transaction excludes the Lunar Digital brand. The sale marks a significant milestone for Lunar Digital, which only launched its first data centre, Lunar 1, in January 2024.
Founded in 2022, Lunar Digital is based in the south-central Manchester connectivity cluster, the city’s main networking hub. The site hosts c.25 carriers, a London Internet Exchange point of presence and direct dark fibre links to Equinix’s MA1 data centre. Lunar serves c.60 customers across content networks, carriers, cybersecurity, IT services and enterprise.
The site has c.1.45MW of IT capacity installed today, with plans to expand to 2.5MW.
Manchester is the UK’s largest regional data centre market outside London and the leading network aggregation point for Northern England. This acquisition marks Volta’s first expansion outside London and establishes a platform for further growth in the region. The acquired Reynolds House business will draw on staff transferring with the business, further recruitment and Volta’s central resources.
Charlie Scott, Senior Investment Director and Asset Manager for Volta: “The Reynolds House Manchester data centre stood out as an ideal first bolt-on acquisition for Volta under Arcus’ ownership and is a key step in building a leading UK connectivity-led colocation platform. Its established position at the heart of Manchester’s connectivity ecosystem and its high-quality customer base give Volta a strong foothold in the UK’s most important regional data centre market and will allow us to offer customers connectivity across London and Manchester. We are pleased to have worked with the Lunar Digital team on this transaction and are looking forward to taking the acquired business through the next phase of growth.”
Jason Liggins, CEO of Volta: “We’re delighted to welcome Reynolds House Manchester into the Volta family. Until now, Volta has been a London business. Having a second home in Manchester gives our customers more choice, as well as more places to connect. To everyone at Reynolds House, customers and colleagues alike: Welcome! We’re looking forward to working with you and building on the site’s success. I’d like to thank the Lunar Digital management team for the business they have built and for their support through the transition. Our focus now is to keep delivering, and keep improving, the service every customer receives from us.”
Robin Garbutt, CEO and Co-Founder of Lunar Digital: “Building the Reynolds House Manchester data centre into an established part of the city’s connectivity ecosystem has been a significant achievement for our team. We are proud of the business we have developed and pleased to see Arcus and Volta support its next phase of growth. This transaction brings new investment and opportunities for the data centre, its customers and its people, while we retain the Lunar Digital brand.”.
